IT Salaries in the North West rise by 4.6% in 2007

Following analysis of over 3600 IT positions across the North West region*, CV Screen report that the average permanent IT salary in the North West now stands at £31,660.

The survey which monitors over 30 IT job roles in the region concludes that IT Salaries increased by 4.6% in 2007. The increase is slightly higher than those seen in CV Screen's other regional salary surveys.

CV Screen’s Account Manager for the North West region, Rachel Luckman commented on the survey "It's clear from the findings that demand for IT professionals in the North West region remains strong which is putting upward pressure on IT Salaries."

The recruiter continued "It appears from the findings that salaries in the region are catching up the rest of the UK. The North / South divide is still very apparent, with salaries in the South East and London significantly higher still."

Luckman concluded "I would anticipate that salary increases in 2008 will rise at a slower rate as the economy slows, but the early indications are that employers in the region still have skills shortages within their IT departments."
