The Web Developer is responsible for the layout, usability, maintenance and development of existing company websites and the building of new websites in line with the eCommerce strategy.
Duties and Responsibilities
To develop and administer on a day-to-day basis the company websites, ensuring that the sites meet accessibility and search facility standards
To manage the development and training of the Content Management Systems (CMS)
To continually design, develop and evolve the company web technologies to keep it commercially competitive
To continually evolve the web technologies and ensure they meet requirements on accessibility (W3C standards)
Responsible for integrating the company database with the website
To develop web page infrastructure and application related to pages with more advanced graphics and features
To assist the Web Development Manager in the planning of overall company strategy regarding web development and search engine optimisation
To monitor web server and site technical performance
To provide training to users on the use of the CMS
Skills / Attributes Required
Relevant Web Development experience (C# / SQL)
Proven HTML, CSS and JavaScript experience
Strong database knowledge specifically
Knowledge of Content Management Systems (CMS)
Knowledge of Search Engine Optimisation techniques preferred
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
